Rainbow Girls is an organization for girls, ages 11 to 20. The membership learns leadership, public speaking, and community service. Through the seven lessons of the seven colors of the rainbow, the girls learn life lessons in Love (Red), Religion (Orange), Nature (Yellow), Immortality (Green), Fidelity (Blu), Patriotism (Indigo), and Service (Violet).
Grand Assembly of Texas Rainbow was founded in 1923. This fraternal organization was written by a Mason, W. Mark Sexton. He believed there should be an organization for the daughters, grand-daughters, and nieces of Master Masons. He wrote the ritual and ceremonies used by the Rainbow Girls today. As with the Masons and Eastern Star, the girls believe in the existence of a Supreme Being. Meetings begin with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.
